Because you’ve asked for it, here is an update on the extra special January 26th lecture!

The Schedule:

The Cost:

If you are a member in good standing (meaning your dues have been paid up) and you attended the annual dinner, then you can attend Ben Train’s lecture at no cost.

If you are a member in good standing (meaning your dues have been paid up) but you are unable to attend the annual dinner, then you can attend Ben Train’s lecture at the usual, $20 for members and $40 for non members.

The Andi Gladwin lecture will also be as per usual, $20 for members and $40 for non members.

Lunch will be provided by the club!

The Lecturers

The final lecturer of the Can-Am Conjuring Lecture Series for 2019 is Mark Strivings!

Mark Strivings is a full-time pro based in the Denver area. He has lectured throughout the US, performed for ‘Monday Night Magic’ on Broadway, headlined twice for MINDvention in Las Vegas, lectured twice for Penguin Magic’s online series, lectured at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and been a featured lecturer/performer for the Psychic Entertainer’s Association on several occasions.

His material is featured in the acts of a number of working professionals the world over, and he is in high demand as a consultant. In addition to publishing 30 books on all aspects of magic, mentalism and kids magic, being featured on nearly 20 video productions and having nearly 80 commercial releases, Mark has been published in Genii, the Linking Ring, Magic Magazine, M-U-M, Laugh-Makers, Syzygy, The Magic Menu, Magick Magazine, The Altar Flame, Oracle Magazine, Vibrations and more.

Mark is often credited with having started the worldwide phenomenon of strolling magic with the publication of his 1996 classic book “Mobile Mentalism,” a movement that has literally exploded in the years since then. He is also the creator of the legendary Sight Unseen Case, recognized by Docc Hilford as”One of the top ten devices ever created for the working mentalist.”
As a working pro Mark is truly a general practitioner in that he performs magic, mentalism, hypnosis, close-up, parlor, stage, strolling, kids and family, comedy and more, and his lectures reflect his wide experience.

Mark’s new lecture, “G-Flat 9” truly has something for everyone from close-up to parlor to stage. Everything in the lecture is very unique and all extremely simple to perform. In fact, be sure that you bring a deck of cards with you to the lecture because you are going to perform a couple of the effects for yourself before you even learn them. It’s a unique experience, to say the least.

Our penultimate lecturer from the 2018-2019 Cam-Am Conjuring Lecture Series is Jonathan Levit.

Jonathan has been performing as a magician for nearly his entire life. He has been the private magician for celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Nicolas Cage, Teri Hatcher and Tony Curtis, to name just a few.

He is an actor, magician, television host, producer and public speaker. Jonathan’s acting career began with his starring role as a con-artist magician in one of the most highly acclaimed episodes of “THE X-FILES”, playing opposite Ricky Jay. He went on to guest star in television shows and films such as “FLASHFORWARD” (ABC), “THE OTHERS” (NBC) and “THE HUNTRESS” (USA), among others — playing magicians and non-magicians alike. Jonathan has hosted shows for THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL, THE SCIENCE CHANNEL, THE BIOGRAPHY CHANNEL, EQUATOR HD and the FINE LIVING NETWORK. Combining magic and hosting, Jonathan was seen on VH1 as the host and a judge of the celebrity reality magic series, “CELEBRACADABRA” and has appeared on “MASTERS OF ILLUSION” (FOX). He has graced the covers of MAGIC MAGAZINE and GENII MAGAZINE and works consistently as a magic consultant for television and film. He taught Jack Davenport to do magic on “FLASHFORWARD” (ABC), David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson on “THE X-FILES” (FOX), Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, and Ayla Fisher in “NOW YOU SEE ME” (SUMMIT), and Steve Carell, Alan Arkin, and Olivia Wilde in “THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE” (New Line Cinema). Consulting has brought him all over the world including the Middle East where he was the magic consultant for a tv series shooting in Egypt, Lebanon, and Dubai. He was the producer and consultant for “Hip Hop Houdini” on FUSE TV and continues to develop content for television and film.

In this highly acclaimed lecture, Jonathan teaches more than just the trick.
