Ron Bell
Ron Bell was born in China in 1933 and raised in England. He got into magic at the age of 11 and was really hooked at 12 when he saw Dante with his wonderful stage show "Sim Sala Bim" at the Garrick Theater, London. He came to Canada at 20 and in 1954 joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He has travelled throughout Canada, the USA and Europe. Retired as a Brigadier General in 1988 after nearly 35 years service and lives in Victoria, British Columbia. He is an Order of Merlin member of the IBM and has performed stage and closeup at national and international magic conventions in Europe and Canada. He is a contributor to magic magazines and won the 1972 Award for the best effect in the Linking Ring Hocus Pocus Parade. He has been very active since retirement with the Victoria Magic Circle and in bringing magic to the less fortunate. He is married and has three children.
